Steps to Boost Safari Browser Speed

In most cases the reason why Safari is running slow is not the fault of the web browser. Instead, the chances are that there’s something wrong with your computer. There probably is a thing that’s been slowing down your whole Mac computer, making your browser run slow as well. According to Safari support Canada, here are some of the most common reasons for this problem

1. Not Enough Cache Memory

If there’s not enough space on your computer, the browser won’t work properly. The good news is that you can solve this problem by emptying out the cache! To do that, follow these steps:

  • Step 1 – Open Safari
  • Step 2 – Click the Safari button and choose Preferences from the drop-down menu
  • Step 3 – Go to the Advanced tab and tick the box saying “Show Develop menu in menu”
  • Step 4 – Exit Preferences and choose “Develop”in the Safari menu
  • Step 5 – Click the option “Empty Caches”

2. Too Many Extensions

If there are too many extensions installed on your Safari browser, that might be the reason why it’s working slowly. To remove those you don’t need, here is what you need to do:

  • Step 1 – Open Safari and click on the Safari menu
  • Step 2 – Choose “Safari Extensions...” from the drop-down menu
  • Step 3 – Find the plugins you want to remove and click the button “Uninstall”

3. Outdated Software

If you are using an outdated version of Safari, it probably isn’t as fast as you would like. The same is the case if you are using an older version of MacOS. The good news is that updating software is not that hard.

You can find the latest versions of both the browser and the operating system by opening the Mac App Store! If you don’t know how to install the software, you can call Safari helpline and ask them to guide you through the whole process
